Pictures!

It has been such a long time since I have posted any pictures of Daxton. He is getting so big.

My cute Daxton! He will be 4 months in one week!

I know Braedon's eyes are closed in this picture and Daxton has red eyes...but, Daxton is smiling and it is so hard for me to get a picture of him smiling. He is normally always smiling but when the camera comes out he is more interested in trying to grab it then to smile.

I think this picture is so sweet. They love each other so much! Braedon loves to hold Daxton, and Daxton loves having Braedon play with him!

Tagged!

Okay, so I have been tagged at least twice with this same tag so I thought I better get on it!
RULES
1. Link this post to the person who tagged you. Megan & Jordanna
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. List 6 random things about yourself.
4. Tag 6 people at the end of your post.
5. Let each person know they have been tagged and leave a comment on their blog.
6. Let the tagger know when your entry is up.

Random things about ME
1. I am currently obsessed with crafting. I just finished making sixty blocks (pics later) for neighborhood and friend gifts. I usually make things for other people and not myself. I guess I like to show off my work and this is how I do it!

2. When I am driving or riding (usually riding because I am terrified of driving) in the car I make sure that the doors are locked. I am terrified that the car I am in is going to be car jacked.

3. I love to organize!

4. I want to go back to school (hopefully sooner than later) and get my nursing degree.

5. I have no desire to see the movie "Twilight" even though I read all the books and liked them. I just prefer to keep the characters how I made them out to be in my mind.

6. I love to dance and sing! These days I only preform for my family! Back in the day I shared my talents with everyone!

Six people I tag... Okay, I am breaking this rule. No one needs to do this unless they want to! But I do promise to leave comments on six blogs!

FHE

Every month my family (parents, grandma, siblings and their families)get together and have a combined Family Home Evening. We love being together so this is just one more good excuse! I feel so lucky to have all of my siblings close by. Brad and I are the furthest away from each other and we only live 45 min. apart! Anyway, back to FHE...we all switch off taking turns being the host family. One month is a lesson and the next month is the activity. This month it was at my house. We had the activity. We decided to do a little Fall/Halloween mix. We had a scavenger hunt where we went looking for the great pumpkin, then we ate sloppy joes for dinner, then we docorated caramel apples, and then we frosted sugar cookies (the kids and moms did the cookies, by that time the guys just wanted to play the WII). Here are some pictures I took (Derek took some too).

This picture is my mom helping Braedon pull a clue out of the mailbox. Lori is in the background video recording!

At the end of the scavenger hunt I had a pumpkin (the great pumpkin) filled with candy bags for the kids. Then off to the side were these autumn blocks that I made for every family.

Here are some of the decorated apples.

Here is Drew showing off his wonderful sugar cookie frosting abilities!

And, of course, me helping Braedon decorate his ghost!

P.S. I just checked Aubrey's blog and she just posted about this yesterday and she has some very cute pictures of my little Daxton if you want to check it out.

My Cute Braedon!

I keep wanting to write this post about how great of a child Braedon is and then the second I sit down to write it he always turns into a terrible two! But honestly, the good Braedon is around a lot more than the bad Braedon!
I'm writing this post on Braedon because one day I'm going to forget all the cute things he is saying and doing.
So, this is mostly for my benefit, but if you want to see how cute Braedon is please read on!!!
-Braedon is the best big brother in the world! He is always making sure Daxton is okay. If I am busy doing something and Daxton starts to cry Braedon will go over to him and say, "what's wrong baby bwudder?" Then he gives Daxton his binkie and starts singing "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star"!
-One day I was going to take a shower and I was leaving Braedon downstairs to watch PBS Kids. As I was leaving Braedon said, "wait, I want to hold Daxton." Just thinking it was for a minute I let him. As I put Daxton in his arms he sais to me, "okay, you can go take a shower." So just to test him I put Daxton's binkie on the couch and as I did that Braedon said, "ya, just leave it there, see ya!" I was laughing so hard. Then I had to explain to Braedon that he was still to young to watch Daxton without mommy helping.
-In order to get Braedon to leave Derek's parents house grandpa has to bribe him with fruit snacks. This conversation happened during one of these times.
Grandpa: Braedon you are so lucky you get to eat fruit snacks. Does Daxton eat fruit snacks?
Braedon: No, just Braedon.
Grandpa: What does Daxton eat?
Braedon: ummm...he eats mommy.
I guess he is right!
-Braedon has always been a very good sleeper. Him being 2 1/2 I have been waiting for the day to come that he fights naptime. I don't think this is going to happen. Every day after Sesame Street is over he turns off the TV and says "mommy, I'm ready for my nap!" He sleeps usually 2hrs. plus! I love it! Such a good boy!

Okay, there are a million more stories I could tell, but this is both boys nap times and I need to take advantage of my time! Here are some very cute pictures of Braedon!

Daxton's Baby Blessing

Okay, I know this is late coming, but I'm not super woman! (just a week late, no big deal!) On Sept. 14 we blessed Daxton. Derek gave him a beautiful blessing. The day was so nice and it was nice to be able to spend time with all of our family! (except Blake)

Although Blake was not there physically, because he is on his mission, I really felt like his spirit was connected with us. One reason being that we named Daxton Blake after him. We know that Blake already holds a special place in his heart for Daxton. Another reason I felt so close to Blake is because we received hand made baby booties from a lady that Blake baptized in the Netherlands. These booties came in the mail just a couple days before the blessing. Daxton got to wear them for his blessing!

And here is a picture of my cute little family! I am so grateful for my boys!

Can I help?

This is the question I am constantly getting from Braedon. It doesn't matter if I am bathing Daxton, feeding him, changing his diaper, or anything Braedon wants to help me! It is very cute. The other night Braedon asked if he could change Daxton's diaper and I said "yes"! So here are a few cute pictures showing Braedon in the process. I thought that Derek would help him get through it, but by the time Braedon was pulling the diaper straps off I knew I needed to put the camera down because Derek was looking at me with eyes saying "what do I do?"!

Boys pictures

Last week I took the boys to get pictures taken. I was nervous because when I took Braedon in at 2yrs. he would not leave my arms to go sit on the table. Luckily my mom came with me this time and Braedon was absolutely perfect! Daxton was perfect too...he slept the entire time! Here are the pictures for your viewing pleasure! (I know their skin colors look odd...Braedon is as white as a person gets and Daxton is still jaundice!)

One Week!

Last week as Derek and I were sitting in the hospital room with Daxton it was hard to believe he was here...one week later and we don't remember what life was like without him.
This last week has been pretty low key. My wonderful mother came to my house everyday! She is so amazing and so selfless. Braedon has loved every second of her being at our house.
With Daxton coming home I knew this would cause a little bit of hardship for Braedon. The first couple of days were the hardest. It made it worse that I couldn't actually pick up Braedon because of my incision. He did everything he possibly could to get all the attention back on him! Although sharing the attention has been a hard concept to grasp, Braedon absolutely loves Daxton. Every morning the first thing he wants to do is see Daxton. Before he goes anywhere, even to the next room, he has to give Daxton a kiss! He is always asking to hold Daxton. He loves being the big brother. I love my boys!!!
Here are a few pics from the hospital and home for your viewing pleasure! Also, my sister Aubrey now has a blog, she has posted pictures of Daxton and my cute family. Please feel free to go to her blog and take a look at those pictures as well!

The first to see and hold Daxton! This is right out of the delivery room before he even went to the nursery! My mom was so happy to be able to hold him!

Here is a close up of my cute little guy! He looks so much like Derek!

Braedon has a strange obsession with smelling feet! It is so funny, he can be in the middle of doing a puzzle or playing or anything and he will just stop and smell his feet! When we asked him what he was going to do with Daxton when he was born the first thing he said was smell his feet!

Here is my tiny little guy getting ready to come home from the hospital!

Summer Fun!!!

I know, it's about time! I think about posting a lot, the problem is actually getting around to doing it! So anyway, I thought I'd get one last post in before the baby arrives! Just under two weeks to go! My body is sooooo ready to not be pregnant! Having a baby in August is quite a difficult task! I can't wait to get rid of the swelling!
Okay, back to the summer. We really haven't done much but play outside, clean house, and do yard work! Sounds like fun, I know! We did go on one overnighter to Park City with my family for the 4th of July. That was fun, especially the swimming and being able to feel weightless.
We did have a garden this summer, but unfortunately something very bad happened to it and it all died. The worst part was that this only happened a few weeks ago so we were starting to get lots of veggies. We had to throw away a lot of vegetables that were about ready for us to eat. Oh well, we will try again next year!
Here are a few pics of our summer happenings...(sorry, I'm not in any of the pictures!)

This picture was taken on the day we planted our garden. Braedon got this water/sand toy from my parents for his birthday. He got the sand taken away after we heard him saying "I like it" as he was eating the sand!

This is Derek planting the garden!

Braedon's cousins Brynlee and Tanner came over to play and they brought their slip and slide! Braedon loved having the water squirt him in the face!

If you notice in the picture about you can see a corner of Braedon's new swing set. Well, unfortunately while Derek was putting it together Braedon had an accident. He tripped over the little trampoline and landed all his weight on his right arm. We thought that could be broken because everytime we would try to touch it he would scream and pull away. We took him to the doctors and he put on his face of stone and didn't even flinch when the doctor touched him! So we got a brace for him to wear and we are hoping that is wasn't really broken!

While Braedon was stuck with wearing the brace for a little while we decided to keep him to some low key indoor activities. We took him to the Bean Museum. He loved it! He didn't stop talking about it for days!!!

And last, but not least, Braedon's favorite thing to do this summer is go to Grandma and Grandpa's house! (both sides) At Derek's parents he loves to play with Grandpa! At my parents house he love to play on the swing set! In this picture he is playing with his cousins Drew and Tyler! Such handsome boys!

I hope that everyone is enjoying their summer! And hopefully you will be hearing from me soon after the 8th!!!

My Tickers!

Okay, just to clear things up on my tickers below (not that anyone pays attention to them except me), there are 3 different ones for a purpose! Since I am having baby number 2 and have long ago decided to have a c-section I get the wonderful opportunity of knowing what day my little guy will be born. So, ticker #1(very bottom) is my original due date. Ticker #2 (middle) is the due date that my doctor just changed me to yesterday. Ticker #3 (top) is the actual day I will be having my little guy!!! Can anyone guess what that day is? We are very excited about it!!! It is 08/08/08!!! Yep, we didn't even ask for it, it just fell into our laps! Maybe at my next doctors appt I will be bold enough to ask if I can have him at 8:08am! Probably not, but that would be really cool!

Spring Break week!

So last week was Derek's spring break! It was the perfect week because it was during both Derek and Braedon's birthdays! We made sure that it was packed with fun! I didn't take pictures of all of the events (sometimes I forget!) but I will still go day by day and tell you about all the fun we had!

Monday

We went to the zoo with Derek's parents and Braedon's cousins Holly and Andrew! It was such a beautiful day! I got fried!!! Of course! Braedon's favorite animal was the elephant!

Tuesday (sorry no pictures)
We took Braedon to Chuck E Cheese so he could get his free pizza and play hard! Normally when we take him he rides the rides the entire time. Not this time...when you turn 2 I guess you are old enough to play all of the games. His favorite one was ski ball! After that we took Braedon to see the Horton movie. It was a very good movie but we have decided that Braedon won't be going back to a theater until he is 12!

Wednesday
Derek's birthday! You would think that we would do whatever Derek wanted on this day...guess not! We first went to Kamas to visit Cheryl and her two kids Kayli and Bryce. She is in town for her sisters wedding and this is the best day we could find to see each other! I know I had a lot of fun seeing them and talking with Cheryl! Braedon most definitely had a fun time running around and playing with Kayli!

After visiting with them we went to Park City. We had already stopped by there earlier to drop my mom and sister off to get a good start on their shopping! So we joined them and went shopping for the rest of Derek's birthday! What a good sport! Here is a cute picture of Aubrey, Braedon, and Grandma all wearing their sunglasses!

Thursday
Derek's parents were so nice to babysit Braedon for us this day! We started off by going to Toys r us to finally get Braedon's birthday shopping done! It was a shopping trip full of hard decisions! After that we went out to Tucanos for Derek's birthday lunch! It was very good and it was so nice to be out with just each other!

Friday
Now this was a big day! This was the first of a three day birthday celebration for Braedon! We had his cousin birthday party this day! He was so excited! He even got to wear new birthday clothes!

Braedon's party was a bug party. Here we are playing pin the spider on the web.

Braedon had lots of fun at his party! He loved blowing his candles out and eating his cake!

Saturday
We opened Braedon's present from Derek and me on this day because Derek had to be at church early the next morning! Here are a couple of pictures of him and his great new presents!

Sunday
This was Braedon's actual birthday! We had a big party at my parents house but once again I failed to take pictures!
